The Demo4Grid consortium partners and the responsible persons from the FCHJU of the European Commission met on May 19 and 20 for meetings at the Green Energy Center Europe and at the electrolysis plant of Mpreis in Völs near Innsbruck. The participants got an impression of the project progress and discussed further steps in the project.

The project partners saw the start-up phase of Europeans largest single-stack electrolysis plant, which is being used in the Demo4Grid project to control TIWAG’s power grid. They also saw the commissioning phases of the hydrogen heating system for the MPreis bakery, the refueling system for the hydrogen trucks and the first hydrogen training vehicle. The first hydrogen truck fleet for delivery to MPreis stores will be operational in the fall of 2022.

The MPreis hydrogen plant is spearheading the development of a regional green hydrogen economy in Central Europe, which is being driven by the Green Energy Center Europe’s WIVA P&G HyWest project.
