2024 has been a year of growth and transformation at the Green Energy Center Europe, marking significant milestones in the journey toward a climate-neutral and autonomous energy system.
Key achievements include:
- Hydrogen Advancements: Progress in the WIVA P&G HyWest Hydrogen Valley with new Hyundai fuel cell trucks and the inauguration of a high-performance heat pump at MPREIS in Völs. Construction has also begun on TIWAG’s new hydrogen production facility in Jenbach.
- International Cooperation: Strengthening ties with the TRIERES Hydrogen Valley in Greece and fostering knowledge exchange through a dedicated workshop. Collaborations with EU-funded projects H2 Cove and High Select have been intensified to advance the green hydrogen economy.
- Green Mobility: The successful completion of the HyBus research project has led to Austria’s first hydrogen bus line, launching in 2025. The HyDrone project also achieved a milestone with a three-hour test flight, paving the way for sustainable long-distance transport.
- Multimodal Mobility Hub: Officially inaugurated in 2024, this hub offers vehicle charging, green car sharing, and co-working spaces, fully integrated into the new website for improved accessibility. It plays a vital role in ongoing research and upcoming collaborations, including a project with leading quantum computing company AQT.
These developments underscore the Green Energy Center’s commitment building the bridge to a sustainable green future.
